WomenHeart SC is a support network for female heart disease survivors. It is different than awareness campaigns because it is an on the ground, volunteer driven support group that provides a way to heal emotionally after a cardiac event. The group serves as advocates and educators about heart disease, the number one killer of women, and is open to all women who suffer from the disease.
Providence is proud to be the only hospital in South Carolina to partner with WomenHeart Columbia chapter and its champion, Christine Gallagher.
We invite you to join WomenHeart Columbia. It's free and it will help you stay connected to other women who share similar challenges.

Mended Hearts is a national non-profit organization made up of nearly 18,000 individuals in 300 chapters nationwide who share their stories by volunteering their time to visit patients in the hospital. Volunteers are all past heart patients looking to connect, answer questions and provide comfort for current heart patients dealing with the same situation.
Chapter #189, also known as the Providence Heartbeat, has grown to more than 110 members since it began in 1998. Members volunteer seven days a week and reached 13,316 visits in 2011. Their goal is to ensure that every heart patient at Providence Hospital is visited at least once by at least one volunteer.
