
Ryan Succop, a kicker from Hickory, North Carolina., was named All-Heart Player-of-the-Week by Coach Spurrier and the University of South Carolina coaching staff for his performance during the Mississippi State game on Aug. 31. The All-Heart Player-of-the-Week award is presented to individuals who display leadership, initiative, and “heart” in athletics, academics and life.
Succop, a 6’3” Sophomore has taken over both the punting and placekicking chores from Josh Brown in addition to his duties handling the kickoffs. Succop was named the SEC Special Teams Player of the week after his performance in the Mississippi State game. “I've coached a lot of games. I've never seen a kicker / punter have the kind of game he had tonight,” said Coach Steve Spurrier. “He had an all-american kind of night.”
