Community Vascular Screenings

This quick and non-invasive screening is designed to evaluate your vascular health and has three components:

1. Carotid ultrasound: An ultrasound is taken of your carotid arteries in your neck.  The ultrasound images allow a physician to measure blood flow and view any abnormalities.

2. Ankle-Brachial Index: Blood pressures are taken simultaneously on your arms and ankles to measure the difference in pressure.  The difference in pressures can indicate presence and level of peripheral artery disease.

3. Echocardiogram:   A technician spreads a small amount of gel on your chest and performs an ultrasound of your heart.  These images show the structure and movement of the heart, and blood flow through it with each beat- allowing any abnormalities to be easily seen and identified.

Results will be mailed following the screening.
