Surgical Services

Outpatient Surgery

• We perform more than 6,000 surgeries annually.
• Our case mix includes ENT, general, vascular, neuro, orthopaedics, bronchoscopies, endoscopies, plastics and gynecological at the Northeast campus.
• We are a National Beta site for Meditech's MAGIC system, which is used to document patient care information.
• Positions are available at the Northeast and downtown locations.

General Surgery

• We perform more than 13,500 surgeries annually on both campuses (inpatient and outpatient).
• Our case mix includes ENT, general, vascular, neuro, orthopaedics, plastics and gynecological at the Northeast campus.
• New Smith and Nephew endoscopic towers are used for orthopaedic/laparoscopic and ENT surgeries.
• We use the new image-guided system for ENT endoscopic sinus surgery.
• We utilize the new PAC's system for viewing radiological results.
• The Northeast campus has two new state-of-the-art OR's for performing all types of endoscopic procedures.
• The downtown OR has open block time for all types of surgeries.

PACU

• Eight patient bays are featured at both the downtown and Northeast locations.
• The downtown campus averages 15 cases daily, with varying acuity levels.
• The Northeast campus averages 10 cases daily.
• The case mix includes ENT, general, vascular, neuron, orthopaedics, plastics and gynecological at the Northeast campus.
• We offer flexible 8-, 10- or 12-hour shifts.
• We have expanding needs and opportunities at the Northeast campus.

Cardiovascular Surgery

• Over 850 open heart procedures are done annually.
• Our case mix includes cardiac, thoracic and peripheral vascular.
• There are four operating rooms dedicated totally to cardiovascular surgery.
• Call is required of all staff.
• The average staff longevity for our unit is 12 years.
• A minimally invasive / endoscopic approach is used for valve surgery, vein harvesting, lobectomies and atrial ablations.
