With all diagnostics and surgical services located on the first floor, in close proximity to emergency care, laboratory, rehabilitation services and our pharmacy, you and your family will find visiting our hospital is more convenient and easy to get around in.

Diagnostics

State-of-the-art imaging makes it possible for physicians to diagnose many conditions --giving them a precise look at what is hidden from the human eye. That's why our new facility is fully equipped with the latest advanced diagnostic technology including CAT scan, ultrasound, mammography, EKGs and cardiac stress tests.

Our staff is professionally certified, caring and committed to making you and your family comfortable during diagnostic procedures.

Surgical Services

Our surgical department employs the "clean core" concept -- meaning surgical teams may access all four operating rooms without ever having to leave the sterile environment of the suite. These operating rooms are used for same day or outpatient surgery as well as surgical procedures requiring an inpatient stay. They are adjacent to the large recovery area where you'll find the staff members professional and attentive to your personal needs as they prepare you to leave for home or your hospital room.

Emergency Care

We hope your family never needs our emergency care department, but when accidents do occur, you can rest a little easier knowing 24-hour emergency care is closer to you.

Designed in close proximity to all necessary diagnostic services, our emergency department has a separate drive-up ambulance bay and a helipad for Providence Hospital's LifeReach helicopter. The modern, spacious facility is equipped to handle emergencies. Our staff is well-trained and ready to handle emergencies with efficiency and care.

Inpatient Care

Taking the elevator to the second floor, you'll find inpatient care that is centered around the special needs of patients and their families. It's an area so well designed to accommodate families, we call it our Family Care Unit.

All patient rooms on this floor are large and private. Short hallways with satellite nursing stations keep all patients close to the nursing staff. The health care services you'll find in this unit range from diagnostic to therapeutic -- providing a continuum of care that covers every member of your family. Other features of our Family Care Unit:

• 4-bed Intensive Care Unit, equipped with state-of-the-art patient monitors
• 34 medical/surgical beds

Lab

Our laboratory department is located next door to the emergency care and diagnostics areas -- and is staffed 24 hours a day.

As a full service laboratory, our department enables physicians to make a more accurate diagnosis. By providing information to support physicians' findings, it's integral to the care we provide in every department.

Maternity Care

Step off the elevator onto the third floor and you've entered the Maternity Care department — an entire floor devoted to the special needs of families and their new babies.

The beautifully furnished maternity suites are designed for more than comfort. The handsome wood furniture also houses all the equipment physicians and nursing staff need to help expectant moms through labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum — so mom won't have to change rooms during her stay.

Private family sitting rooms adjoin each suite, giving family members a place to relax without disturbing mom. And oversized sleeper chairs provide comfortable accommodations for overnight stay. Along with these benefits, your family will find special care from a staff who believes personalized care for you and your baby should be the rule. Not the exception.

Outpatient Care

Doctor's orders for lab work, physical therapy, X-rays, CT scans, mammography, ultrasounds, minor surgery and other procedures are performed on our first floor within close proximity of each other.

As you enter the lobby of our main entrance, patient admissions is on your left and a quiet waiting area for families of outpatients is located behind the front desk. Close-by on the first floor, you'll also find the cafeteria and chapel.

Along with full-service diagnostics and surgical services, our facility gives your family the benefit of many rehabilitation services:

• Pulmonary function tests (PFTs)
• Outpatient respiratory therapy
• Pulmonary rehabilitation
• Blood gas analysis with carbon monoxide testing
• Evaluation of injuries and develop treatment programs for injured workers
• Isokinetic testing for orthopedic injuries
• Traditional and mechanical treatment approaches for neck and back injuries
• Orthopedic rehabilitation including knees, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hand, ankles
• Patient Education for self-management in rehabilitation
• Pain Management
• Wound Care 

In the Gateway II Center, you'll find the Sleep Disorders Center, which diagnoses and treats patients suffering from sleep apnea syndrome, narcolepsy, parasomnias, REM behavior disorders, nocturnal seizures, restless leg syndrome, periodic limb movements and other sleep disorders. Our state-of-the-art laboratories are staffed by highly qualified specialists trained in sleep medicine, respiratory therapy, neurology and pulmonary medicine. Providence Orthopaedic & Neuro Spine Institute

Also located on the campus of Providence Hospital Northeast is Providence Orthopaedic & Neuro Spine Institute. The Institute is a unique collaboration among Providence and leading orthopaedic surgeons and neurosurgeons, providing medical and surgical treatment of the bones, joints and spine.
