What a beautiful day May 1, 2010 turned out to be. We were thrilled that 1,450 of you registered to participate in our ninth annual Providence Heart & Sole Women’s Five Miler. The weather was typically warm and humid, but at least the rain held off for a change!
We were honored that Janet Cherobon chose to join us again at this year’s event. She shaved nearly a minute off her previous course record to set a brand new one for Heart & Sole. Her time of 26:55 was incredible. Janet was part of a very competitive field of runners that made the finish line an exciting place to be on Saturday!
I hope you had a fantastic and memorable experience at this year’s Heart & Sole event. I know our race committee did. We continue to be inspired by the stories you share with us about losing weight, setting goals and the fun you have just celebrating the day with other strong, beautiful women.
Thanks for coming out to support this event and helping increase awareness about heart disease, the number one killer of women. Your participation shows you’re motivated to take charge of your health and unleash the power of a healthy lifestyle.
Let’s do this all over again on April 30, 2011. That’s the date of next year’s event, so mark your calendars now! Until then, stay healthy!
