Heart MonitorProvidence Heart & Vascular Institute is the premier cardiac and heart care facility in South Carolina. Equipped with six catheterization labs, four surgical suites and leading-edge electrophysiology labs, the Heart Institute is consistently among the first to introduce new procedures such as MIDCAB (minimally invasive direct coronary artery bypass), "off-pump" or "beating heart" surgery and drug-eluting stents.

Cardiac Catheterization Lab

Averaging nearly 7,000 cases per year, the hospital's cardiac catheterization laboratory is a vital component of the cardiac services delivered to the people of South Carolina by Providence Heart & Vascular Institute. Both diagnostic and interventional procedures are performed in thehospital's six catheterization labs. Procedures include percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA), directional coronary atherectomy (DCA), coronary stenting, rotational atherectomy (rotablator), intracoronary ultrasound imaging, myocardial biopsy.
